About The Event

There is true magic in seeing something old and un-salvagable turn into a new and swanky version! In this workshop, we aim to help you re-imagine a decor item you own and turn into something magical. In this workshop, participants get to repurpose a pre owned piece of decor item with their own hands, using the signature Annie Sloan chalk paints.

In this workshop, you will learn the following:

  • The advantages and relevance of repurposing furniture
  • Basics of making a mood board or visualising a transformation
  • Learning basics of prepping, painting and sealing a pre owned decor item
  • Insights into the process of transforming furniture items and decorating a space

Participants need to bring a pre owned piece of furniture they want to transform. Upon registration the participants submit three items which they'd like to repurpose and the instructor will shortlist one of them for the workshop.

All the art supplies like paints, brushes, sandpaper, stencils, wax and lacquer from Annie Sloan Chalk Paints (Artsy Nest) will be provided. You get to take back an up-cycled version of their own decor item. The ticket includes all materials and tasty refreshments for the participants. Sign up for this transformative experience and meet fellow creatives for a memorable Sunday.

About the instructor - Kiranmayee Madupu dawns many hats but what's common in most roles is her endeavour to create something authentic! Be it through her dance performances, or teaching dance, being an entrepreneur, a lifestyle blogger, a furniture painting enthusiast, a home maker or a mom, she enjoy the cathartic process of being hands-on and creating something original. Through this workshop she will share her insights on furniture painting and visualising the magical transformations of boring old house-hold items into something marvellous.

About the Venue - Aaromalé is an arts and cultural space that also moonlights as a co-creative community for creative folks to connect, collaborate, and craft something awesome. Huddled inside a 25-year-old property that looks every bit like a heritage mansion in Chikmagaluru or Kodaikanal, Aaromalé is where your creative mojo can thrive. Founded with the very intent of offering a quintessential platform for artists to collaborate and create, Aaromalé is the perfect home for our workshops, this summer.
